HELPDESK

The Oldham Branch is able to offer informal advice with Family History research, after the monthly meetings, but is unable to offer a helpdesk with computer access.

However, on the Oldham Local History website HERE, under the heading of 'Family History' link, we can read, "Family history experts are available every Monday and Wednesday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm to help with any family history enquiries you may have.
Staff will only be too happy to assist with any family history enquiries during our normal opening hours."

At the Local Studies there is also access to computers with research sites such as 'Ancestry' and 'Find My Past' on them; archived newspapers are available on film readers. There are open bookshelves for general research and browsing, and other archived material can be requested.

And, of course,  members of the MLFHS Society can sign up for the email forum, in which subscribers can post requests for help and offer help and answers themselves.
