It was common practice, when registering a birth or death which took place in a workhouse, to enter the street address of the workhouse in the register and not the name of the institution. This document, an expanded version of a list originally provided by Lynne Wilkinson, provides the street addresses of several Lancashire and Cheshire workhouses.
