Location

We are located in Manchester Central Library at St. Peter's Square in the heart of Manchester.

Getting Here

By Metrolink

Central Library is right next to the St. Peter's Square Metrolink station. There are direct tram services from Altrincham, East Didsbury, Eccles and Bury and simple connections from other lines.

By Bus

Many bus services from South Manchester stop at the Oxford Street end of Portland Street, which is a five minute walk from the library. Other services arrive at Shudehill Interchange and Piccadilly Bus Station. Shudehill is about 15 minutes' and Piccadilly about 10 minutes' walk from the library, but there are direct Metrolink connections to St. Peter's Square from stops adjacent to both of these bus terminals.

By Car

If you can avoid coming by car then do! There is no parking at Central Library. There are several car parks in the vicinity but parking charges are relatively high. Visitors arriving by car are advised to consider parking at a Metrolink station and completing their journey by Metrolink. By Cycle

There are two cycle stands on the perimeter of the Central Library, both marked on our interactive map.

Disabled Access

There is full wheelchair access from the Metrolink platforms as well asinto and within the building. There is limited parking for Blue Badge holders.

Our Helpdesk is on the far side from the main entrance as shown below.

Where To Eat

The café in Central Library serves sandwiches and light snacks. There are several cafes, restaurants and sandwich bars within a five minute walk of the library.
