What We Do!

The Irish Ancestry Branch has always worked to help our members find their Irish history, whether they are looking for more recent family in the wider Manchester and Lancashire area or trying to trace the ancestral family in Ireland.

Over the years there have been many Manchester Genealogist articles written about the Irish in Ireland and about Irish families who migrated to Scotland and England (and other places). Over the last few years a team of volunteers have transcribed thousands of Roman Catholic baptism records and are now working on the transcription of Roman Catholic marriage records. Our documents and database also include thousands of other Irish references.

To search for a surname please use the orange 'SEARCH' button above; members may it find it more convenient to log in first, as this opens up the Member Home Page as well as providing access to more records in the Search function. The picture gallery below gives some idea of the records and documents available via the Search button and the documents collection.
