The City of Manchester is the capital of the North West and is the commercial, educational and cultural focus for this effervescent region of England. The City and its inhabitants are passionate about their cultural and music heritage. Athough known as an industrial city, there are interesting things to see, Manchester has many fine Victorian buildings, with an imposing Gothic Town Hall, the Royal Exchange and the unusual circilar Central Library in St. Peters Square. Manchester is a City of startling and significant challenges. It is home to a major international airport and one of the largest student populations in Europe. Many visitors to Manchester like to tour Granada Studios, home to Coronation Street, there are numerous art galleries and museums including the Museum of Science and Industry.
